There is another where someone tries to bring Hitler back to life and it is a little creepy as well. Obviously, it was an android, but they used a real human actor for the first stages so it was pretty freaky. A few weeks ago we made our daughter stop watching quickly as what looked to be a human began to melt face-first into a puddle of goo, fake hair and electronics. (Just a pair of glasses, Clark? Really?) The one thing I do feel I should caution about is that a few of the episodes are unusually scary. What they will probably notice is that it is incredibly silly that no one can tell that Diana Prince is the same person as Wonder Woman, but that seems to be the norm for superheroes in disguise. sudden random shots of Diana's costumed bum. Likewise, they probably will not notice the occasional "fanservice,"i.e. The episodes with hints of others behaving in sexually immoral ways are subtle enough that your kid will probably not get it until at least age 10 if you aren't letting them watch lots of stuff like that anyway or something. She returns good for bad and seeks justice, not revenge. Then kids will get to see her transform into her true self, do some seriously funny high jumps (some of which they have actually played backwards to get the right effect, so it's really funny for adults), stop bullets with her bracelets, capture bad guys and get them to spill the beans with her lasso, and turning them over to the police, never killing or seriously hurting anyone. We talk about things like that with our little girl as needed and I think it gives us some good talking points. Sometimes these baddies make passes at her, try to objectify her, etc, but it is shown as a definite bad guy action and she doesn't stand for it. So what do kids see? They see an intelligent, dignified woman who does her job well and is generally respected by all of the men in the shows except the clearly-defined baddies. Honestly, I sometimes get bored and lose track myself. Now, I’m going to turn off the nerdrage valve before I wind up behind the couch with a rawhide chew, growling. To begin with, the plots will go over most children's heads. There are no other female super heroes who are not part of a team who have the mainstream recognition to even half-way pull it off.

We need a Wonder Woman movie because we don’t have any other female superheroes that are strong enough to headline in a solo film. And if you tell me that women cannot headline action movies, I will point you to Tomb Raider, Resident Evil and Kill Bill, and send you home. If you mention My Super Ex-Girlfriend, I just might gouge my eyes out with a spoon. Don’t talk to me about Elektra and Catwoman. Why do we need a Wonder Woman movie? Because we don’t have any superhero movies with a strong, solo, female protagonist.

And I swear to Hera, if this means a show full of humorous dating situations, talk about a “biological clock,” and laughs about co-ed bathrooms with not a superpower in sight there won’t be enough XKCD comics in the full space-time continuum to express my rage. While it is strictly true that there are less women in the geek world then there are men, responding this obviously to that fact betrays a hunger for money that is greater than a sense of devotion to character.
